A lot of people are publishing quotes on Twitter. They add quotes from famous people and not so famous people. Some of the quotes are interesting, words you can learn from, other quotes are funny, words that make you laugh. Other quotes are just plain boring, but they’re still quotes.
Quotes are important on Twitter.
If you add the word quote or the hashtag #quote to your tweets, many people might find and read your tweets, because quotes are popular and people search Twitter to find quotes.
The reason they’re popular is that quotes are usually short sentences and they’re usually to the point, and give a lot of meaning by using few words. And that’s what Twitter is all about really, you need to explain whatever you’re saying by using 140 characters or less.
I use quotes to emphasise important statements and thoughts. That’s mostly because sometimes I find it a lot easier to use quotes to get my thoughts out.
For instance, when looking for a way to explain to my followers why it’s important to be testing and tracking your marketing campaign, I use a famous quote from Albert Einstein, it’s actually related to insanity and got nothing to do with marketing:
“Insanity: Doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.”
It’s always easy to quote Earl Hickey from My Name is Earl, his thoughts are always interesting and funny, and that’s the perfect combination when I’m trying to explain things.
For instance, when it comes to life and marketing, or whatever I’m doing, this quote is always right:
“Do good things and good things happen. Do bad things and bad things happen.”
Finally. I use quotes about business and how to be successful. The best person to quote is usually Homer Simpson, because he says things like:
“Son, if you really want something in this life, you have to work for it. Now quiet! They’re about to announce the lottery numbers.”
Publishing quotes like those to Twitter helps explain things in an easy way, and it might even help you get more followers.
Now, if you don’t remember the quotes, you can find them by looking at various directories or just search for quotes and your favorite authors, characters, movie stars or keywords. It’s fairly easy to find good quotes no matter which topic you’re tweeting about.
Here are some of the directories I’m using to find quotes:
- ThinkExist.com
- FindQuotes.com
- SaidWhat.co.uk
- QuotationsPage.com
- Quoteland.com
- BrainyQuote.com
- SeekFamousQuotes.com
Let me ask you this:
Do you publish quotes on Twitter? And do you have any favorite quotes to share?
