Today, March 6, my son is 4 years old. All he wanted for his birthday was a Nintendo DS, and it had to be green. As I was waiting for the guests to arrive, I was thinking about how it’s possible to use Twitter when it comes to birthdays?

The obvious choice is to publish a manual tweet with a happy birthday. I have already done this. I have also published a scheduled tweet. A scheduled tweet when it comes to birthdays is probably something you should do as well. This way, you won’t forget their birthday. At least they will think that you remembered it. LOL.

I haven’t used many of the fairly new birthday applications. It’s easy to send birthday wishes using Twitter. Just use HappyTweepDay or TwellWishes.

You could create a birthday card, an e-card and publish it via HashLove. Some of the cards look great, and you can get other friends to sign it. Or you could send virtual gifts via TwitGift.ly

By the way. My birthday is coming up in about a month. Although, you could send me money through Twitter. For my birthday, I would be a lot more happy if you donated some money via Twonate to some charity, and just added @berget to the tweet. LOL.

At the moment. I’m just happy that my son is only 4 years old, and I still remember his birthday without any use of technology. And that I don’t have to spend much time to plan anything. I think the party will be just perfect without all the fancy new applications. He won’t be receiving any virtual gifts, only a green Nintendo DS.
