Search Twitter Using HootSuite

Posted by Jens Topics: Support

One of the most powerful features of Twitter is the search. I have especially been using it for support, by searching for whatever question I have, and it works great.

When you search Twitter you do it in real-time, and you can end up finding tweets that are just a few minutes old. That’s amazing. This way, you can be part of a brand new conversation, even though you have no clue who the people tweeting are.

You know the topic, that’s the important part.

Now, let me show you how to search using the best Twitter client available, HootSuite.

And, I’ll use an affiliate marketing example. Let’s say that you’re promoting TweetAdder, the powerful Twitter software that I’ve been using for several months.

What you want to do, is search Twitter for TweetAdder.

Type the search in the search box in the top right corner.

After you do, you’ll get the search results as a new pop-up box in the centre of your screen.

You will see the latest tweets using your the word(s) you searched for, and you can choose to see the users with a username matching the word(s) you search for.

The next thing you should do is to save the search. Save it as a stream.

When you save the search as a stream, you’ll get every new tweet with your keyword updated in real-time.

When there’s a new tweet in your stream, you’ll get notified with a sound and a number of how many new tweets there are. You’ll see it next to the name of your stream.

Think about it, every time someone are having a conversation on Twitter regarding “your product” you’ll be notified and you can be part of the conversation.

I’m searching Twitter all the time, are you?

Twitter is Awesome for Support

Posted by Jens Topics: Support

This happened yesterday.

I was writing on my novel, and listening to music. I’m always listening to music while writing, it’s how I write.

Music.

Ever since I started using Spotify, it’s been so much easier to write, that’s probably because using Spotify gets me access to the best music in the world.

Silence.

Suddenly, the music stopped. I was listening to Depeche Mode and their “A Broken Frame” from 1982. Just then, I thought that maybe the cd was finished, because I didn’t know which song was the last one. I hadn’t listened to this cd for at least ten years.

I looked at Spotify and it was offline.

I tried to log in.

Again and again.

It was obvious that something was wrong. My computer was online, the only software that was offline was Spofity.

Their website was also offline.

That’s when I decided to use Twitter and search for Spofity. I wanted to know if I was the only one having problems.

Twitter is awesome for support. Just look at this screenshot.

Everytime I use Twitter for support, I come to think of the time when I used Twitter to fix the white screen of death on my iMac. I was so greatful, and I still am.
